A wealth of natural forests will be explored on this tour, which includes some of the best preserved forest areas of Europe. We will be ascending from the riverine floodplain forests of the River Danube, through the xerothermic vegetation dominated by Turkey and Eastern White Oak, to the true montane areas of the Carpathian Mountains. Tree species dominate at different elevations – Beech Tree, European Fir, Norway Spruce, European Larch, Stone and Dwarf Pine. The holiday concludes in the Slovak Karst where there is the greatest variety of trees and bushes. We will be guided by expert leaders through primeval forests and others associated with European Yew and Narrow-leaved Ash.
