Introduction

Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic with more than one thousand years of history cradled within Prague Castle, the River Moldau and the picturesque Charles Bridge.
Visitors are fascinated and invigorated by the diversity of neighbourhoods, eagerly pounding the cobblestones between the fortifications, historically resplendent gardens and palaces, green open-air spaces and countless centuries old curiosities.
The City has around 250 gardens in which to relax and feel like the old Prague nobility, who built these small and restful pieces of the nature near their palaces. The majority of these were opened to the public in 1989 after the Velvet Revolution. The architecture of the gardens is marked mainly by baroque and renaissance styles with an harmonious blend of sculptures, paintings, water pools and terraces, work of the best artists of the time - like M. B. Braun, F. M. Kanka, G. Santini and others. These designers worked according to astrology, alchemy and the rules of nature to fulfil the holistic and magical plan of Prague.
