Day 1: Meeting in Prague

Meet at 6 p.m. at the Bellagio hotel situated in the very heart of Prague; drink a toast to the trip and enjoy a welcome dinner at a renowned restaurant where international celebrities have dined. Since the restaurant is situated on a hill, it offers an impressive nighttime view of the city of Prague. Overnight in Prague.

Day 2: Prague

Prague Today's tour of Prague will feature the city's most famous sights, including the Prague Castle, St. Nicholas' Cathedral, Charles Bridge, the astronomical clock, Old Town Square, and the Jewish Town, as well as the fabulous Garden on the Ramparts with stunning city views and the peaceful Wallenstein Garden. In the afternoon, a short drive to the picturesque town of Karlstejn, dominated by the robust Karlstejn castle. Overnight in Karlstejn.

Day 3: From Karlstejn Castle to St. John under the Rock Holy Monastery

Karlstejn Castle The day starts with a guided tour of Karlstejn Castle, which has a unique position among Czech castles since it was built in the 14th century as a treasury for the coronation jewels. Enjoy a moderate walk through the limestone Bohemian Karst to the monastery of St. John under the Rock. Another option is an extended walk to the medieval village of Tetin. Overnight in Karlstejn.

Day 4: Orlik Reservoir Castles

Orlik Castle Transfer along the Vltava River to the scenic region of South Bohemia. Starting at the shore of the Orlik lake, a walking path leads us to the gates of 13th-century Orlik Castle; from here, set out on a scenic boat ride, passing under the remarkable Zdakovsky bridge and ending at one of the oldest castles in the Czech Republic, the Zvikov castle. Afterwards, enjoy an easy 3-hour walk through the forests and meadows alongside the Vltava River. Transfer to Cesky Krumlov; overnight.

Day 5: Cesky Krumlov

Cesky Krumlov town Full day in Cesky Krumlov, a true jewel among Czech towns, listed by UNESCO for its well-preserved medieval character. Stroll along the winding cobbled streets lined with well-preserved Renaissance and Gothic houses, take a guided tour of the extensive castle, or visit the unique Baroque Theater. Afternoon at leisure; however, those who prefer to stay physically active can opt to climb a nearby hill and be rewarded with a beautiful view of the town below. Another option is to go down the Vltava River on a canoe, which is an excellent possibility to get another view of the South Bohemian beautiful landscape. Overnight in Cesky Krumlov.

Day 6: Telc

Morning drive through the peaceful countryside of the Trebon Basin followed by a walk through the charming landscape of the Czech-Moravian Highlands, the main European watershed. Stroll through the flowery meadows and verdant forests until arriving in Telc. This picture-perfect Renaissance town is another UNESCO world heritage site boasting an impressive château and picturesque gabled houses on the elongated square. Overnight in Telc.

Day 7: Telc - Prague OR Telc - Vienna OR Telc - Budapest

Prague Begin the morning with a short walk around the town's lakes and old fortification walls in the adjacent English park, then take a guided tour of the Renaissance château. After a lunch, transfer to Prague. Remainder of the day is at leisure. In the evening a farewell dinner and an evening walk in Prague to bid a fond "nashledanou" (farewell) to the Czech Republic and its people. Overnight in a centrally-located hotel in Prague.

Day 8: Prague

Tour ends after breakfast. Instead of flying home, you may wish to stay on for independent exploration of Prague, Vienna and/or Budapest.
