ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Krakow

Meeting in Krakow. Welcome drink and dinner. Orientation walk through the city center and relaxing walk along the Wisla river under the famous Wawel castle.

Day 2: Krakow city tour

Total Walk: Approx. 3 hours, CITY WALK
Total Driving: 0

Guided city tour of Krakow. Visit of Oscar Schindler’s factory, Jewish Quarter Kazimierz, Wawel Castle, walk through the Jagiellonian University, one of the oldest universities of Europe, the Old Town and the Main Market Square (Rynek) dominated by Town Hall Tower.

Day 3: Auschwitz and Birkenau

Total Walk: Approx. 3 hours, 5 km/3 miles; Level 1
Total Driving: Approx. 3 hours

Visit of Auschwitz (Oswieczim) and Birkenau, sacred places with the infamous concentration camp designed by the Nazis to exterminate European Jews. Transfer to High Tatras.

Day 4: High Tatras

Total Walk: Approx. 4 hours, 10 km/6 miles; Level 2-3
Total Driving: Approx. 2 hours

A day long trip. Cable car up to Kasprowy Mt. (1987 m) and round trip, full of magnificent views to Czarny Staw (Black Lake).

Day 5: Old-style Rafting and Walking in Pieniny National Park

Total Walk: Approx. 2 hours, 7 km/4.5 miles; Level 2
Total Driving: Approx. 3 hours


Transfer to Pieniny national park where we can enjoy a 5 mile ride down the Dunajec river on a wooden raft with captains wearing traditional costumes that take you back in time. Dunejec river form state border between Poland and Slovakia. After the rafting and picnic lunch we enjoy 2 hours walk in Slovak part of the Pieniny National Park, finishing at Cerveny Klastor Monastery. Transfer to Beskind Niski mountains.

Day 6: Beskid Niski and Lemko family

Total Walk: Approx. 4 hours, 12 km/7.5 miles; Level 1-2
Total Driving: Approx. 0,5 hours

Starting at Wysowa and walking though meadows and forest. We eplore abandoned Lemkos village and finish at mixed Polish-Lemno village of Izby. We visit of local Lemko family and orthodox wooden church at Banica village. Back to Wysowa by our bus.

Day 7: Border walking and Horse carriage ride, Bardejov (UNESCO) visit

Total Walk: Approx. 3 hours, 10 km/6 miles; Level 1-2
Total Driving: Approx. 1 hour


Walking along Polish/Slovak border passing Primeval forest, heading to Hucul horse farm, farm visit, followed by Hucul horse carriage ride. Short visit of nearby Slovak town Bardejov.

Day 8: Weliczka – salt mines (UNESCO inscribed)

Total Walk: Approx. 2 hours, 4 km/2.5 miles SALT MINE WALK
Total Driving: Approx. 3 hours

Transfer back to Krakow. Famous Wieliczka UNESCO listed salt mine visit. Some free time in Krakow for shopping and individual sightseeing.

Day 9: Krakov departure

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Krakow airport for departure flight.
